Ukraine's preparations for the possibility of land offensive from Belarus

Russian President Vladimir Putin visited Belarus on Monday, and according to officials in Kiev and the experts, this visit is an attempt to pressure President Alexander Lukashenko to join a ground attack that can be launched by Belarus. The Ukrainian Army has been preparing for such a scenario for months. American Voice correspondent, [...]
Ukrainian authorities have increased alertness at the border of Belarus. America's voice was at the border point, while the main road connecting the two countries is full of mines.
Oleksandr Tsys, commander of the Territorial Protection Brigade 104, says that since the launch of the Russian aggressor on February 24th, Ukrainian forces have been preparing for a possible offensive by Belarus.
We all know today what step to take and how to react to the” attack, he says.
Ukrainian forces, he claims, feel safe to protect the country.
“We have incredible support from the local population and local government. We've secured numerous military equipment from our partners. We're preparing our soldiers, so we're almost”, says Oleksandr Tses, Commander of the 104th Brigade.
Colonel Anton Kwitlovsky says that according to Ukrainian intelligence data, the Belarusian army is not prepared for offensive action. However, Ukrainians are carefully examining the training of the Belarusian forces. In co-ordination with Russian forces, Belarus can strike and Ukrainians are preparing.

Because of the relief of a ground attack from Belarus to Ukraine, it seems impossible. Vitaly Koval, governor of the region “Rivne” that borders Belarus, points to reasons.
“As you can see, on the left are the marshes. They're impossible to pass. For 92 kilometers we have marshes. The enemy must realize that they cannot conquer nature and God. These swamps help us. In addition, we have over a thousand small and large rivers in the bridge region, which serve as natural protection”, he says.
Ukraine and Belarus divide a 1,000-mile border. In February, Russian forces used Belarus as their starting point for their attack on the Ukrainian capital, Kiev. Since the launch of Russian aggression, Belarus's territory has become a base for resue military logistics and launching missiles.
Olexey Danilov, Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council, told the Voice of America that the Ukrainian government takes the threat seriously.
The risks are real, we never underestimated them. The point is that the Russian Federation is taking Belarus at the moment, we are prepared for each scenario, including Belarus”, he says.
Experts say Belarusian authorities have so far hesitated to use their ground forces to directly attack Ukraine. But they say it can change at any moment.
