Trust goes to Commission, goes to Parliament

Out of nine votes, four were for, three against, and two abstentions.

From the Vetevendosje Movement abstained Visar Korenica and Eman Kundman.

After this vote, the bill goes to the Assembly.

To give a clearer opinion on the matter, the commission has invited representatives from the Central Bank and the Pension Trust.

Kosovo Central Bank Governor Fehmi Mehmeti said the goal of the pension contributions is to offer prosperity after retirement age.

Hence, such vehicles must be exploited after retirement so that such ones do not become a burden to the State.

The “for savings-based pensions, which we act on behalf of participants and spenders, aims to collect and provide contributing pensions if they reach the age of 65. The goal of the pension contributions is to provide well after retirement age”.

I consider that pension means as the main goal is to ensure the well-being of citizens who, after retirement, have a well-being and not become a social burden of the state”, Mehmeti said.

Similar thoughts and against withdrawing means from the Trust were expressed by Ruzhdi Morina, chairman of the Pension Trust Board.

Trust Director Adrian Zalli said that if the bill is passed in the Assembly, around 600m euros will be withdrawn.

The numbers are drawn if as proposed by the law the amount that will be withdrawn is over 594m euros if they are all attracted, if we take the practice of how much they were attracted last time is 95 percent. It is expected that the same will withdraw about 600m euros”, Zalli said.

While the MP PDK, Ferat Shala, asked about the job the BQK has done in reducing inflation.

MP PDK, Bekim Haxhiu, has said that the director of the Pension Trust has attracted over 16 thousand euros at the time the withdrawal of Trust funds was voted.

If the Trust director, Mr. Zalli, has withdrawn 16 thousand euros, why am I not allowed as a citizen. What's Trust losses this year, how could they lose 200m euros if they were safe. What's the amount of valuable letters that Trust bought to the Government”.

“I'm doing it to give government tools, and it's not doing it to citizens”, Haxhi said, as he said that according to a GAP report, about 94 per cent can benefit from attracting Trust vehicles.

The pension reform also called for Trust Board Director Ruzhdi Morina.

BEC Governor Fehmi Mehmeti said the value of loans in Kosovo is 4.2 billion euros.
