“Today, I visited parts of Serbian Army and police units performing tasks along the administrative line”, Vuchev wrote.
He says soldiers and police have convinced “readiness” that they have shown to carry out their duties.
“In this case, I became convinced of the high morale and readiness of members of Serbia's Armed Forces and police to carry out all assigned duties quickly and decisively”, he says.
Vuchevic has said on Monday that the number of members of the Serbian Armed Forces Special Units will increase from 1,500 to 5,000 by the end of 2023. Such a decision came, he said, “with orders” of Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq.
In a statement published by the Ministry of Defence, Vuchev has given no concrete reasons for this decision, except that he said the Serbian Armed Forces would be the strongest “crus to break the bad wishes and intentions of” those who “wish to harm our people”.
I want to inform Serbia's opinion, not just Serbia, that last night General [Milan] Mojsilovic, chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Serbia, and I received a duty -- an order from the President of the Republic as Commander General [Aleksandar Vuciq] -- to increase the number of members of special units in the Serbian Army by the end of 2023<1>, Vuchev said.
