Serbia makes decisions: Prolongation of car registration with illegal license plates is possible for Serbs

Serbia's government has announced that a regulation has been adopted at yesterday's session that allows the continuation of registration of all vehicles with illegal license plates containing acronyms of Kosovo cities, KM, PR, GL and others. The approved regulation speaks of “specific conditions for the validity of vehicle registration with signs of city and municipal registration” in Kosovo, which goes into effect today.
The Serbian government's announcement says these vehicles, as before, “will be able to move freely in communications, with the possession of mandatory security police and the testimony of technical control of the vehicle, no longer than one year”.
The government made the decision in line with the regulation for registering vehicles of competent Republika Serbia authorities, as well as the agreement reached within the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina for preventing escalation of the situation and continuing the search for permanent solution to the Kosovo vehicle license issue” is said in announcing the Serbian government.
