These new attacks come as Ukrainian President Volomdymyr Zelensky said millions of civilians are in dark and cold, as Moscow has hit power lines and civilian infrastructure.
Russian forces have conducted two air strikes and 44 missile attacks on Ukrainian positions and residential areas over the past 24 hours, the General Staff said. According to headquarters, 25 settlements around Bahmut and Avdijavka, which are two central points where Russia is focusing its offensive in Donjeck.
Luhanscu and Harkivi are the other two regions, besides Donjeck, where Russia is constantly attacking, the General Staff said. Meanwhile, in the southern region of Herson, Russia has bombed the populated areas on the right side of the Dnjeper River, the Ukrainian Army said.
The Ukrainian Army said it has responded to a Russian attack near Novobiloserca, in the Zaporizhja region.
Britain's Defence Ministry said that during the past two days, Luhanscu and Donjeck have been subject to the most serious Russian attacks, but Moscow has had little success.
“over the last 48 hours, fighting has continued to focus around Bahmut in Donjeck and near Svaov in Luhansk. Russia continues to conduct frequent attacks in these areas, even though there is little difference in who controls the” territory, British intelligence said.
