Asked about statements by Kosovo Interior Minister Jedal Svecla, that Serbia, under Russia's influence, is aiming to destabilise Kosovo, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said “is completely wrong” to talk about Russian destructive influence.
Minister Svechla declared on December 27th that Serbia has been influenced by Russia when it has made its decision to upgrade the combat readiness of military and police forces to the highest level.
The statements that the Republic of Kosovo has established a state of readiness are completely untrue and are part of Serbia-Russian double propaganda”, he said, rejecting Serbian officials' claims that Kosovo has also increased the level of combat readiness.
Otherwise, Russia is an ally of Serbia, and Belgrade has calculated Moscow's support to block Pristina from membership in international organisations and institutions. As Serbia still refuses to impose sanctions on Russia due to Ukraine's unprotested invasion, Kosovo has sanctioned Moscow.
Serbia has denied it is trying to destabilise Kosovo and has argued it is protecting Serbs living in Kosovo.
