Yesterday, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken warned Russia that he may be looking for a way to leave Ukraine without negotiating a long-term deal.
He said Moscow could take a period to rest, regroup and attack Ukraine once more, writes Sky News, the Periscope broadcast.
One of the things you can imagine is that Russia is trying to find a way out. Until Russia shows up interested in literal diplomacy, it cannot go anywhere”, Blinken said.
In response to these statements, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said: “That the outcome should be a lasting peace, we can agree, but in terms of certain possibilities for negotiations, we see no such possibility at the moment”, Peskov said.
He added that in order to have talks with potential partners, Russia must meet its “military special operation objectives”.
Last week, American President Joe Biden said he would be ready for talks with his Russian homolgun, Vladimir Putin, if he was interested in ending the war, but it seems like talks between the US and Russia will not be expected to happen soon, while the two sides appear unprepared to back off their demands. /Periscopi/
