The Reuters News Agency writes that Kosovo has asked NATO troops to transport the former Serbian police, who were arrested two weeks ago but could not be transferred elsewhere because local Serbs seeking his release set up barricades to prevent his shift.
Reuters has broadcast Svechla's statement from yesterday's press conference in Mitrovica.
He (Pantiq) should be in the detention centre rather than in the police station, and for that we have asked our international partners to transfer him to an appropriate” facility, Interior Minister Jhelal Svecla said.
Reuters further points out that Mission NATO in Kosovo, KFOR is the only force that has helicopters and that Kosovo does not own one, and that it needs NATO permission to get one.
“KFOR has already transported nine police officers in recent days who were sick but couldn't get out of the area, as roads were blocked”, Reuters writes away.
We remember that Kosovo institutions have warned yesterday of the removal of barricades if KFOR does not.
