“There will not be a presidential press conference until the start of the new year,” said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov at a telephone conference, noting that Putin has spoken to reporters on other occasions, especially during his trips abroad, writes Sky News, Periscopi is attending.
Since 2001, Vladimir Putin has regularly organized a large-scale confrontation with journalists, except for the period between 2008 and 2012, when he was in charge of the prime minister.
At that annual press conference, which usually lasts several hours, hundreds of Russian and foreign journalists are gathered, and Putin answers questions directly on various topics, from diplomacy to Russian daily topics.
The decision not to hold the traditional weekend press conference came after Russia, which launched a military offensive against Ukraine in February, suffered numerous military obstacles in recent months and ordered a partial mobilization in September. /Periscopi/
