Protests in Montenegro have been held Monday afternoon, where citizens have crossed the defence fence and tried to get into the Parliament building. Police have reacted by using tear gas to disperse the crowd.
With calls “being betrayed”, protesters claim amendments to the law for the president are aimed at undermining constitutional order.
This Monday, the assembly adopted amendments to the presidential law with which the election of government is possible without the president's consent.
Montenegro's public television footage has reported that protesters stoned the mosque door in the Parliament, where lights were turned off for security reasons.
