Bayta was a strong voice against the Kosovo Serb occupation under the University Accession Association and Scientific Workers. In 1990, he was imprisoned by Serbian power and accused of hostile activities against the Serbian state. He spent six months in prison.
After being released, Bata has been employed at the University of Sorbonne in Paris and at Poatje University in France. At these universities he legalized French until 2002, when he also retired.
Bayta wrote the dictionary “French-Albanian” in 1978. In 1988 he led the Albanian - language translation and editing team. He was editor of “Zerit head” of Albanians in France's Encyclopedia “Larousse” He has published many scientific and professional works in the field of French and Albanian.
He was born in 1936 in the village of Juiti in the Podujevo municipality.
