President sets election date in the north, April 23, 2023

The president of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, after completing consultations with political parties and full consensus released from this meeting, has set April 23rd 2023, the new date for holding extraordinary elections for mayors: Northern Mitrovica, Zubin Potok, Leposaviq and Zvecan and the Zvecan and Leposaviqi municipal assemblies.

Osmani has indicated that there has been complete consensus among political parties for delaying elections in the country's north and that the assessment of competent institutions about the security situation in the country's north has been taken into account.

The president's decision instructs the Central Election Commission to take all necessary actions to hold elections on the new date.
