President Osmani expected to postpone elections in the north?

This week, marked at the request of Kosovo allies, for delaying elections in the north, due to security reasons in our country especially after the recent tensions in the north.

U.S. State Department adviser, Derek Chollet, Which next week comes to Kosovo, he said last night that elections for municipal power in Serb-run northern Kosovo should be postponed and that he will discuss the matter with Kosovo leaders during his visit to Pristina next week.

In an interview with Voice of America, Chollet said that the United States thinks that “is not the right time for elections given the sensitivity of the moment and we have seen violence in the last 24 hours”.

Mr. Chollette's request, was said a few days ago by the US ambassador to Kosovo, Mr. Havenier, who also said it's not the right time for elections now.

Meanwhile, on TV 7 debate show, Pressing, MP PDK, Mr. Rashit Qalaj, It says he has certain information that the President will postpone elections in the north.

Qalaj, who was also the director of police in the past, commented on the recently created situation in the north:

European Union has voiced concern over tensions which were created in the northern part of Kosovo in recent days, and has said it considers these tensions as a result of actions on both sides.

The European Union has repeatedly called for the return of Serbs to Kosovo institutions, and for fulfilling their obligations stemming from agreements reached in the process of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, under EU mediation in Brussels.

The European bloc has also said that the parties should refrain from actions and statements leading to tensions in Kosovo and that all differences should be addressed through dialogue.

 Vuciq meets with Defence Minister and Chief of General Staff

Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, announced on Friday morning that he met with his interior minister and chief of the Serbian Army's General Staff.

He did not give any details about what was discussed.

“over the night and morning with Defence Minister Milos Vuchevic, and Chief of General Staff of Armed Forces Milan Mojsilovic... There's no surrender”, Vuciq wrote in his Instagram account.

German Ambassador: Not a favourable choice situation

Germany's ambassador to Kosovo, Jorn Rohde, said the current situation in northern Kosovo “is not favourable” for holding local elections.

He said he agrees with US Ambassador Jeffrey Havenier, who, days ago, said that “has no conditions” for holding elections.

Today: Calm situation reported in northern Kosovo

A Kosovo Police official has told Radio Free Europe under the condition of anonymity that the situation in northern Kosovo is currently calm and “does not have persons disguised on the street who were seen in the morning hours of”.
