Of the last situation in the north, Prime Minister Albin Kurti has spoken today, where he said barricades can be tolerated much longer, but that removing them could cause casualties.

Our concern is that removing these barricades cannot exclude victims. And that's why we want to be as careful as possible to make sure there is no destabilising and that peace and security are in place “, Kurti said about the Guardian”.

The prime minister's statement, former police director Rashit Qalaj, has praised this as both frustrating and unacceptable.

According to Qalajt, Kurti's behaviour has faced the situation in the north is not showing the role of prime minister.

He said Kurti is arguing not the government's action in making the decision to remove barricades in the north.

Mr. “Kurti about the situation in the north is very strange. The prime minister is acting as if he has never been in Kosovo politics and as if he is not the leader of the government, this declaration to me is irritating and unacceptable and not serious on the part of the country's first. By this statement he is arguing that the government's failure to act on making the decision to remove barricades in the north”, Qalaj told Front Online.

MP The PDK, said they should immediately remove the barricades in the north.

He tells Front Online that Kosovo has capacities to face any criminal and the situation created by them.

The Barricades weren't supposed to be allowed to decide at all, but now it's too late to say they have to leave, but they need to start leaving immediately. We all know that there are armed persons there are criminals, but we also know that Kosovo has institutions and has capacities to deal with such situations”, Qalaj stressed.

For the latest situation in the north, Kosovo Police have also issued communiqués, where they have suggested there are nine barricades in total.

“Since the establishment of nine barricades by criminal persons, the security situation in the north of the country continues to be the same, with the result of these barricades, the two border checkpoints Jarinje/Jerinje) and {Bernjakʹ still remained closed for circulation”, police reports.
