If the bill is adopted, it would be the largest U.S. aid to Ukrainians. The vote is expected to take place before midnight on December 23rd, local time.

American President Joe Biden had asked Congress in November to provide more than 37 billion dollars in emergency assistance to this country.

December is the time when the American Congress shared the budget for the following year, and if the request for assistance is approved, it will be part of the Ukrainian Government's support package by September 2023.

In early November, the United States said it would send new military aid worth $400 million to Ukraine.

Almost double that amount, $725 million, was the aid that Ukraine received from the United States in early October.

This same month, NATO He announced he will send new air defence systems and other military assistance to Ukraine so Kiev can be protected from Russian air strikes that are hitting the entire country.

In Ukraine fierce fighting is continuing in Donjeck as Russian forces continued their attacks to the east.

Ukraine's president, Voldymyr Zelensky, will stay in Washington on Wednesday to meet with President Joe Biden.

This is his first trip abroad since the Russian invasion began in February.

The unprohibited Russian invasion of Ukraine has passed the 300th day.
