The first of the state of Kosovo stressed that for the situation created in the north of the country is awaiting a report, and, in the context of that, today, it will hold a meeting with security institutions.
I've actually requested a report on a daily basis, today I have meetings with some security institutions that almost every hour tell me about developments in the loop are now waiting for me in the office and it's one of the many meetings I'll have related to the situation. These are estimates made by security institutions on a daily basis, but now we need them more often because of developments. The moment I get the full report, we will have a clearer mirror on the election issue”, she said.
The first of the state has announced about the election delay procedures, where it said that consensus of political parties is needed along with the security institutions report.
“There are specific criteria which are set by the Venice Commission on Election Delay Issues, in cases where the law specifically does not foresee the right to postpone elections such as the Kosovo case, then the first should be made an assessment by security institutions. This assessment should be addressed in the CEC, and in the CEC there should be a reconciliation to propose such a thing if they deem it necessary. Then that proposal comes to the presidency... . If such a request comes after the CEC's assessment of security institutions as president will make my assessment and share it with political parties, but certainly there must be consensus, not complete unanimity, it is not required but consensus is required. If there is consensus from an overwhelming majority taking part in political consultations, then this will be a joint decision and I believe that in the next two days everything will be clarified”, she said.
Asked whether the Serbian List will be invited in these consultations, President Osmani said he would be invited, as he is a party represented in the Parliament.
“They are invited because they are a party represented in parliament, as a rule I invite all parties represented in parliament even if they have only one MP and for this they are invited parties that are registered to participate in the elections, so they will be invited, whether they will participate is their own matter”, she said.
Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani, while commenting today on the situation created in the north, where there have been explosions, said that whenever it reaches the final agreement, Serbia attempts to create crisis in the north.
According to her, Serbia is doing this now in order to prevent discussion in Brussels of the Franco-German plan.
This is a push of Vuciki which continues to finance and support illegal structures in criminal gangs that are terrorising citizens living in the north and at the same time trying to challenge security institutions. What Kosovo institutions need to do is increase their capacity, efforts, organisation and co-operation in order to protect every citizen living in the north of the country regardless of ethnicity... In this way Serbia, of course, also attempts to create new crises which would then prevent the discussion in Brussels of the US-backed Franco-German proposal, is one of their old strategics, as often as we approach a final agreement they try to create crisis in the north”, the president Osmani said.
And the northern mayoral elections are scheduled to be held on December 18th, while those for municipal municipalities on December 25th, writes Kosovo Press, broadcast Klan Kosova.
A few days ago, election officials along with police officials have attempted to enter KKZ facilities in northern municipalities have been hampered. During these days there's even been a drop of shock bombs and gunshots, and an explosion has been heard last night.
