We have our police north, which is now more present than before. But we also have eleven barricades. He says he does not want Kosovo Serb countries at the institutions, so he asks all of this community to apply for empty positions.
Our police are now in those buildings, where there are no more Serb police officers. I don't want to replace the Serbs who were in the system of our institutions with Albanians. But I also think that more and more Serbs, even those who have not been at work before, should apply to be employed in our system, which is the system of the Republic of Kosovo, the joint state of all citizens and every community, including the Serb community. This was the first episode to leave the institutions. It's very clear to me why you do this”, says Kurt.
He continues his explanation, saying Belgrade insisted all <x0volts” in the north because it rejects the European proposal for normalising Kosovo-Serbia reports.

And as a rationale they said we will hold elections in four municipalities in the northern part of Kosovo, even though the Serb list will not participate. But we decided to postpone the elections for April of next year. Because if we made choices now, there might be incidents. But the biggest problem would be for people not to go to the elections, because Serbs were very afraid of illegal structures in Belgrade, which now with these barricades have become criminal gangs. And, on the other hand, they no longer have excuses for KM tables, because we said we would not punish anyone, but let's give the negotiations a chance, negotiations on full normalisation of relations. And now that they have no excuse, they're getting even more aggressive. I think their aggression is actually their weakness. They tried with some demonstrations, but they need much effort and much money, lots of bus transport to hold a gathering. Historically, we Albanians have a deep tradition of organising demonstrations. During the 20th century, Serbia has much more tradition of war than of demonstrations”.
