The following are the main developments of the day from the war in Ukraine, Periscope follows.
Russia has launched a new wave of attacks in Ukraine early Thursday, targeting Kiev, Lviv and Odessa in the west and other cities in major bombings, causing people to enter shelters and cut off electricity.
The Ukrainian Army said it has down 54 of the 69 missiles launched by Russia. Moscow launched missiles from land and sea, hitting infrastructure centres in eastern, central, western and southern regions. These attacks followed other suicide threats.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Schmyhal said power centres have been damaged and power outages can be deployed in order to avoid network accidents.
Houses were also hit in Kiev by missile fragments. Three people were hurt as a result of attacks on the city, authorities said. The buildings inhabited in Zaporizhja were also damaged.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on parliament to remain united and commended Ukrainians for assisting westward “for recovering itself”.
The Kremlin has rejected Zelensky's 10-point plan, reiterated that proposals aimed at ending the war should include admitting Russia's annexation of four Ukrainian regions.
Russia announced it would ban the sale of oil to countries that have approved setting ceiling prices set this month by the West./Periscopi/
