French President Emmanuel Macron pledged another $125m aid to Ukraine on Tuesday.
Speaking at a donor conference for Ukraine, Macron said his country has already provided 151.5m euros in aid to Ukraine since the start of the war between Moscow and Kiev in February.
Welcoming Ukraine's “trination and determination”, the French president said the conference is a “tangible evidence that Ukraine is not the only”.
He said Russia wants to break the resistance of the Ukrainian people by targeting civilian infrastructure, adding that those attacks constitute “War crimes”.
He announced an additional 125m-euro support package of 48.5m euros for humanitarian issues and 76.5m euros for energy needs.
The French president said a strengthened co-ordination mechanism for international aid to Ukraine would also be implemented.
This mechanism, focused on emergency assistance, meets the co-ordination of US-led energy assistance to G-7 and the reconstruction mechanism that we made clear under the German presidency of G-7,” said Macro.
Stressing the importance of the reconstruction of Ukraine after the war, Macron said an economic forum will be held this afternoon, attended by Ukrainian Prime Minister Danies Shmyhal and almost 700 companies.
