He said that at the meeting they have discussed USAID efforts that are finding application in Kosovo and new aid.
USAID's “assistance so far totals over $1 billion and runs through each stage of our new history as a state and each sector of our country's development. For each dollar we are grateful, as a people, as a country and as institutions”.
Kurti said he has notified McKee at the meeting with the latest economic and democratic indicators, of rule of law and fighting corruption.
We share common values, orientations and interests with the U.S. With the American people, we share strong common beliefs about freedom, justice and democracy. To USAID also finds the United States as a state and the American friendly people. So let's expand our ties and deepen our cooperation in service to the two countries and our two peoples on the basis of the values and beliefs that we share”.
On the other hand, McKee said her visit to Kosovo gave him the opportunity to meet with Kosovars in many sectors of society; business owners, young people, NGOs, and so on.
“The hope they share for the European future for Kosovo is truly inspiring. The US government supports the Kosovo government to further strengthen partnerships with civil society, the private sector and all citizens”, McKee said.
She vowed that the US would always be committed.
We provided young people with the skills that would enable them more actively to develop society and democracy. This can be accomplished without a rule of law that will attract foreign companies”.
