A EU spokeswoman, Ana Pisonero, has confirmed this at a press conference in Brussels, saying she is left with the Council to consider the application once she accepts it. Pisonero confirmed the EU Enlargement Commissioner Oliver Varhely's meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi.
“I think Kosovo has appeared publicly with its intention to apply for EU membership. You know that the EU Treaty is clear on EU accession procedures, and remains to the Council as soon as it accepts the apps to consider them”, said Pisonero.
Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi is staying in Brussels for an official visit and has been suggested that his visit is consistent with Kosovo's intentions to submit its EU membership application. Prime Minister Kurti has suggested that Kosovo will apply for membership before the end of this year. /21 Media
