KKUK risks being without nurses, more than 600 left this year alone

University Clinical Centre (QKUK) is being abandoned by nurses, who are moving out of Kosovo every day. And this situation, according to Naser Rrustem, chairman of the Kosovo Nurses' House, is alarming, as the number of those leaving Kosovo hospitals is on the rise. “
It's alarming, disturbing. . This is a disturbing figure, where it should be disturbed by the top parliament, the president, the Ministry of Health and other organs so that we can improve it with a dignified salary, better working conditions, better night shifts, and we don't beg even less. But I believe this is late “, he said.
This year alone, according to figures that the Oda of Kosovo Nurses has had 630 nurses removed. But according to Rrustem this figure is evidently greater.
The nurse's “is really very large this year. It's about 630 nurses we have in evidence. But that figure isn't for long.
It even says that young nurses are not interested in staying in Kosovo and working in our hospitals, with the conditions and wages they receive. This, he claims, is best seen in open competitions, with very few nurses competing. And that's really sad.
Even though it is very close to retirement, leaving Kosovo has lured and Rrustem, who says that for these few years of work that has remained until retirement, he is thinking of going out. The degradation that has been done to this sector, according to him, has also led to nurses who have worked for 20 years, able to quit their jobs and go abroad.
I'm not interested in this place anymore. Because nothing works in the best of health professionals”, he said.
Rrustem says any escape from nurses outside Kosovo remains disturbing and that with this trend for three or five years, Kosovo risks remaining without health professionals.
While saying that in spite of this created situation, there is no view of any movement being taken by relevant institutions to change the situation.
And regarding the Law on Salaries for Health Professionals, he says that they are not satisfied at all and that they are not yet aware of the value of the cofficient. But if the cofficiency isn't what they expect, then they will react as they had done earlier with the preliminary Law, which they had sent to the ombudsman. He says they are not interested in this Law not being passed but in demanding that health professionals be valued and receive the salary they deserve.
But if basic rights of health professionals are violated, certainly we will react as we have done before. Which no one wants. We want to have a salary law, which is dignified for health professionals. This is our mission, and this mission we have to take to the end of the day”, he said. /Indesksonline
