The Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPK) has expressed “fairly concerned with the statements by Prime Minister Albin Kurti and his subordinates regarding, as they say, “legal decision” for the shift of indictee Dejan Pantic's move from house detention to house arrest, which the KKP says was taken after the request of the Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo.
The KKP estimates that <x0 responses such as Prime Minister Kurti's and his subordinates are tendency to intervene in the affairs and independence of the Kosovo Republic prosecutorial system”.
Also, The KKP expresses deep indignation at Prime Minister Kurti's request to be informed by the prosecutor's name, who has applied for a change in the move against the Pantic defendants, since this, in addition to affecting the prosecutor's independent work, could also trigger reactions that could endanger his own”, the KP's response reported.
The Kosovo Prosecutorial Council says it supports all prosecutors' decisions that are based on law, and called on “to continue their independent, professionally and not be influenced by any kind of intervention or pressure”.
“While Prime Minister Kurti and his subordinates, the KKP was called on to respect the work of the independent state prosecutor's institution, because attempts for intervention, will remain only as such”, it was said in that response.
We remember that today, the Constitutional Court has changed the security measure to former police officer Dejan Pantic, from the detention measure to house arrest.
He is charged with criminal activity “Constitutional rule attack” and “Doing the Terrorist Work”.
