Former KFOR spokeswoman Vincenzo Grasso has said Serbia can perform only 4 functions under UN Security Council Resolution 1244. Grasso said that none of the functions Serbia can perform are in line with the current situation and Vuciqi's purpose.
He said NATO and KFOR will never allow the return of the Serbian Army to Kosovo.
“After Resolution 1244, Serbian personnel may be allowed to carry out V ON THE past four functions and no one of them is incompatible with Mr. Aleksandar Vuciq, who knows well that NATO and KFOR will never authorize this!”, wrote Grasso on Twitter.
He also published this point of resolution on which Serbia is called.
“After the withdrawal, an agreed number of Yugoslav and Serbian personnel will be allowed to return to perform the following positions: Interconnection with international civilian mission and international security presence; Mark/cleaning of mines; Keeping a presence in the countries of inheritance; Maintaining presence at key border points”, it says.
Grasso did this by replicating journalist Besnik Velija, who recalled a moment from 1999, when German commander Helmut Harff had given the ultimatum to the Serbian officer to leave Kosovo for 30 minutes.
In Belgrade recently they have cited the possibility of returning Serbian soldiers to Kosovo. Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq warned on Saturday that he will seek KFOR to secure the delocation of Serbian soldiers and policemen on Kosovo territory “in line with Resolution 1244”.
