In a media communiqué, KFOR mission says this request “is currently being analysed”.
“We are currently analyzing the recent request of the Government of Serbia. We will continue to provide a secure environment and freedom of movement that encourages productive dialogue, giving leaders the ability to create long-term and sustainable solutions for the benefit of all communities living in Kosovo”, the communiqué says.
KFOR has also spoken of increasing troops in the north. That said by KFOR was necessary in view of recent reports of the alleged possible presence of organised criminal groups that were involved in Sunday's demonstrations.

Serbia's government late Thursday approved the “official request” to seek the NATO peacekeeping mission in Kosovo, KFOR, to allow the return of “to hundreds of up to a thousand” police and military forces in Kosovo, calling at UN Security Council Resolution 1244.
Friday morning, members of the Serbian Army have handed this request to KFOR at the Merdare border crossing.
