KFOR says it is helpful to recall that Serbian forces do not need authorization from KFOR to move and train on Serbia's territory.
Until they clarify that under existing agreements, the Serbian Army should only announce KFOR in case their forces need to approach the border with Kosovo at less than 1,000 metres.
“Following reports that Serbian Defence Minister Milos Vuchevic, and Serbia's Chief of Staff of Armed Forces, General Milan Mojsilovic, a few days ago visited Serbia's Armed Forces units deployed in the Raska area, about 2km from the administrative border with Kosovo, is helpful to remember that the Serbian Armed Forces do not need authorization from KFOR to move and train on Serbian territory”, said at KFOR's announcement.
They also announce that KSF cannot go north without our approval.
“As for the Kosovo Security Forces (FSK), their deployment, under existing agreements, requires preliminary consent of KFOR commander to go north of Kosovo. KFOR, in line with its mandate, could engage with legitimate local community representatives in northern Kosovo as part of this reconciliation process”, said in the KFOR communiqué.
In this communiqué, they have said that these agreements have so far been implemented and have called for the parties to continue doing so.
“We remember that all parties have always respected existing agreements and call on them to continue doing so. KFOR remains extremely vigilant and has the capacity and personnel to provide a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement for all communities under our UN mandate, based on 1999 Resolution 1244. KFOR continues to monitor closely the situation on the ground and activities along the ABL, supporting dialogue to find an agreement to ease tensions in northern Kosovo”, said in notification.
