As the Court announced Wednesday, the initial suspect A.K., has been detained for 1 month, until his ban was made on suspicion that if he was released, he could hide, eliminate, or influence the victim or case witnesses.
This is the second case an 11-year-old is sexually assaulted in Kosovo. In August it was reported that an 11-year-old was sexually violated in two separate cases, by several minor and adult persons. For the two cases of violation against her, 13 suspects have so far been arrested.
The child was allegedly raped in late August by five people for seven hours. Two of them were adults. Later, suspicions arose that it had been violated and trafficked even during June of this year.
The event had prompted numerous reactions until protests have taken place to counter violence against women. /kp
