The Russian Federation is trying at all costs to escape its sentence in Albania, Svetlana Timofoeva one of the three Russians arrested in mid-September under suspicion that they had come with spying mission.
Mikhail Zryin and Fedis Alpatov, after entering the perimeter of the former military station in Chekin, Gramshi, threw spray with fuel for the eyes, to soldiers guarding the facility.
On the same day on September 2022, they would be arrested, and prosecutor Kreshnik Ayazi pressed charges of criminal acts “Push due to task”, “Security information”, conducted in collaboration.
Journalist Top Channel Muhamed Veliu learns that Russia officially asks Albania to extradite 33-year-old Timofoeva, who so far in front of the investigative group, has said she is just a blogger.
Last week, the Justice Ministry has received extradition requests, later spent for further actions to the Attorney General.
In the first extradition request from Top Channel, Svetlana Timofoeva was reportedly involved in stealing secret state documents from a Russian institution for which no other details are provided.
Although in the motion, it is specified that this criminal offence was carried out in 2018, the warrant was issued only days after the arrest in Albania of Svetlana Timofoeva, along with Mikhail Zorin and Fedis Alpatov.
A source close to the investigation of this event confirmed to Top Channel that Russia's request for the extradition of Svetlana Timofoeva shows the importance it has to those who sent him on spying mission to Albania.
This development weighs its position, as it indirectly confirms its arrival with a well-organised mission perhaps from the Russian military secret service GRU”, the same source stated.
Russia's extradition request will consider the Elbasan Court in the coming weeks. The three detainees of this event continue to be in prison with the move, handed down by the Elbasan court to prison arrest, also left by Apeli Durres on September 20th.
Svetlana Timofoeva is held in Tirana's women's prison, but for a period of three months she has stayed at the prison hospital, since she has used her time to learn Albanian. Investigations into this serious incident -- praised as Russia's first attack on a NATO country -- follow.
