Cities in Canada, Ontario and Quebec were hit with the Arctic storm, leaving hundreds of thousands of citizens without electricity, while the rest of the country, from British Columbia to Newfoundland, was in a state of extreme cold and snowstorm warning.
The US National Weather Service (NWS) reports that on Friday it marked the biggest winter weather warnings ever, with extreme temperatures up to 45 degrees Celsius, the BBC reports.
In Pennsylvania and Michigan, NWS forecasts a dense snowfall, since Buffalo is expected to drop snow by 8 inches [ 89 cm].
