Ten people, including five children between the ages of three and 15, have lost their lives in a fire near the French city of Lyons.
Neighbors reported that they had heard <x0 screams” and testified that one of the residents threw her child from building to people below before being thrown to death, reports “SkyNews”
The fire broke out in a seven-story residential block in Vaulx-en-Vullin in the early hours of Friday, according to Interior Minister Gerald Darman.
About 180 firefighters participated and a safety cord was established.
A photo of the scene was posted in social media by the minister's delegate for cities and shelter, Olivier Klein.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage, he said.
“There are several scenarios and a” investigation will be opened, Darman said, adding that he was in contact with President Emmanuel Macron for the tragedy.
“sent my condolences to families and loved ones of victims”, he continued.
One resident, Mohammed, told local media: “I heard the voice of women and children shouting”.
I woke up my wife, I said: There's something serious.
She said: "This is a horrible thing. I was really shocked. I witnessed a woman... who threw the baby at people. They got him. She then tried to jump, but she went wrong. She died”.
Reed, another resident, said: “My feet are at”. /Klankosova. tv
