“France supports Kosovo's European perspective, as did other Western Balkan countries”, France's Foreign Minister has said, Klankosova.tv reported.
France called on Kosovo “to continue reforms needed for its European approach, particularly in the area of rule of law and protection of those belonging to minorities. France will continue to support efforts in this direction”.
Furthermore, in the French MPJ communiqué, Kosovo is required, as well as Serbia, to engage “with responsibility and constructiveity in dialogue with the aim of normalising relations between Belgrade and Pristina”.
This, says France, “is the essential condition for the European approach of the two countries and the stability of the entire region”.
Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti handed over to the country, which currently heads the European Union Presidency on Thursday for EU membership to Kosovo.
Kurti has said afterwards that if the EU's five non-recognitional approach would help in the process of Kosovo's membership in the European family.
Kosovo's application for EU membership has supported other European countries.
