According to police, the case occurred at around 23pm Thursday in the village of Serbovc, the Zvecan municipality.

Police units until they were in regular tasks, patrolled, were attacked by armed men with long arms, by a grey-collar Audi-type vehicle with KM license plates. As a result of the incident, a member of the Kosovo Police has been easily injured and significant material damage has been caused in the police car” ) reported in the police announcement.

“The relevant police units have appeared at the scene, to conduct investigations, while the injured police officer has been transported to the QKMF for offering medical assistance” the police report stresses.

Tens of police officers of the order are located in the country's north following the decision of institutions to increase police presence in this part of Kosovo.

The increase in police presence comes after incidents of recent days during which hand grenades were used and firearms were fired.
