Frequent movements of Kosovo Police and EULEX vehicles are observed near the barricade, located two days ago at the crossroads near technical school in northern Mitrovica.
The barricade continues to stand at this location, as individuals from that part are seen adding their movements near the barricade.
The security situation is currently calm. Police officers are continuing patrols in populated areas with mixed populations in northern Mitrovica, thus providing order and security for all citizens indiscriminately.
Barricades in the north, which became an obstacle to freedom of movement, seem to be counting in recent hours. So it has at least hinted at the Serbian President Alexander Vuciq's words, which gave a deadline until Friday evening when they can be removed.
The “for 24 hours or 48 hours will be removed barricades”, he said after meeting with representatives of Serbs from Kosovo late Wednesday at the Serbian Army barracks in Raska, near the border with Kosovo.
The country's president, Vjosa Osmani, has said it is a matter of hours-long removal of barricades in the country's north. She said that if the barricades are not removed, Kosovo institutions will act because according to her, the more the barricades remain there, the more the lives of citizens are threatened.
These statements came after changing the security measure for former police officer Dejan Pantic, who was arrested on December 10th as suspected of terrorism and assault on Kosovo institutions. Power accused the judiciary of changing the move, while the opposition blamed the government for secret agreements with Serbia.
