He has, through a Twitter post, called on citizens to be self-contained until he has suggested they are monitoring the situation together with Kosovo Police and KFOR.
“concerned with yesterday's incidents in northern Kosovo. Any protest must be peaceful and everyone should be calm and show restraint. E ULEX will continue to monitor the situation in close co-ordination with Kosovo Police and KFOR”, he wrote on Twitter.
Prime Minister Albin Kurti last night said criminal gangs have intensified attacks in northern Kosovo.
He said that for this reason there is also increased presence of the Kosovo Police to maintain order and law, until he has accused Serbia and its president, who is paying criminals to destabilise the situation.
They know it's coming to an end. The Kosovo government does not bargain with them, nor does it endure them. The bombs they throw, bullets shooting, and the masks they decide are their political and popular inpower. With these crimes and armed attacks north of Ibri, we will definitely have more Kosovo police there. Because there will be investigations into the pursuit of these criminals, who are paid by Serbia, being conducted by its president. Numerous violations of the law will not be forgiven, while trends for criminal destabilisation will fail. In the four municipalities in the north is not partitioning into Serbs and Albanians, but in criminal gangs and citizens”.
Kurt has also asked all citizens in that part of the country to maintain calm and order.
“Seeks from all Kosovo citizens to support the state and the Kosovo police, all our officials who are protecting constitutionality and legitimacy, republic and democracy”. /Periscopi/
