In a joint statement by the EU and the US State Department, it is said to be working with Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, to find a political solution to lower tensions.
“The EU and the US are concerned about the tense situation that is continuing to prevail in northern Kosovo. We call on all for maximum content, not to take immediate and unconditional measures to reduce tensions, and to refrain from provocations, threats of intimidation. We are working with President Vuciq and Prime Minister Kurti to find a political solution in order to reduce tensions and achieve reconciliation for a way forward in the interest of stability, security and welfare of all local communities”, the joint statement said.
Also in this statement, it is said to welcome the guarantee received by Kosovo, which confirms that there is no list of Kosovo Serbs to be arrested or persecuted for the <x0 peaceful/barricades”.
“at the same time rule of law must be respected, and any form of violence is unacceptable and will not be tolerated”, the communique says.
The US is said to support the EU's work through the EULEX Mission in Kosovo.
