The EU scandal also affects Moghrin, the former Kosovo dialogue mediator- Serbia resigns

Belgian police have put senior European Union officials on the net. The former chief of European Union diplomacy, Federica Moghrini, has resigned from an NGO on Saturday. It for many years was mediating in Kosovo's dialogue, Serbia and is the most prominent name in reports of the scandal that [...]
The European Union's former High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security, Federica Moghrini, has left little work done in Brussels with its commitment as mediator in the Kosovo dialogue Serbia.
Mogher's name came back to be mentioned these days after she resigned from the board “Fight Impunity”, a nongovernmental organization of people known in its composition. The resignation came after several European officials, including several Euro-deputees and European Parliament Vice President Eva Kyle themselves, were accused of accepting large sums of money from a Gulf country reportedly World Cup executive Qatar.
Doha has denied the charges, but the scandal has disappeared. In addition to Mogherin, the resignation of the board “Fast Impunity” gave away former French Prime Minister Bernard Cazeneuve, former European Commissioner for Migration Dimitris Avromopollos, former Yugoslavia Cecilia Wicstrom and the eurodeputt of Isabel Santos. They stepped down after the charges were also addressed to the founder of this board, the former Italian Yugoslavia, Pierre Antonio Panzer.
Federica Moghrini, now a Rector of the College of Europe, will be seen if he is directly affected by this scandal, but her chief on board “Fight Impunity”, Panzer was arrested on charges of bribery and influence by Qatar.
Panzer, former head of the EP's Human Rights Subcommittee, as international media reports, knew some powerful people and apparently used them for his own interests. He knew Moghrin, for example, through his membership at the European Parliament's Foreign Affairs Commission. Later Panzer, who left Parliament in 2019, appointed him to join the Light Impunity Board, according to an assistant at the College of Europe, where Moghrin is currently a rector.
People around Moghrin deny that she has any involvement in the scandal, while confirming she left this NGO on Saturday.
A series of at least 16 raids by Belgian federal police on Friday brought five people online. Others are reported arrested, while the depositors are charged with “membership in a criminal organisation, money laundering and corruption”.
In this case “allegedly the payment of large sums of money or the offer of important gifts to third parties in political and/or strategic positions within the European Parliament has affected the decisions of this institution”.
The scandal prompted many reactions. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyeen also spoke of this today.
“Acuses are extremely disturbing, very serious”, she said, stressing that she also proposes creating an independent body of ethics to supervise EU institutions.
EU High Representative Josep Borrell has also expressed his concern over developments in connection with the scandal affecting the European Parliament, and this is expected to take place even in the discussion at the Council of Foreign Ministers.
