He has said that security issues are in the mandate [...]
He has said that security issues are in the mandate of MPB and institutions that value and provide guarantees for the free movement of citizens in the north.
Elshani, in the end, says that along with the CEC, they have reconfirmed that they have not recommended delaying elections and have called for institutions not to back down in the face of gangs in the north.
Full response:
Today we held the CEC's rotating meeting. Once again as representative The PDK, I expressed our stance that the CEC has constitutional mandates for preparing and managing the election process and could not recommend delaying elections.
Security issues are in the mandate of security institutions, primarily the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and they must assess and give the race for the free movement of citizens in these municipalities so that the will of citizens can be expressed freely, without pressure and instigation.
Together we reaffirmed that the CEC does not recommend delaying the elections, because neither is it in our mandate nor do we have such recommendation. We encourage our institutions not to surrender to criminal gangs in the north, so that elections will be held on December 18th and 25th, as set out.
