Ten people, including five children, have lost their lives in a fire at a palace in Lyons, France, the local government says.
Officials issued a statement saying that a “major fire” broke out in a seven-story apartment block on the outskirts of Vaulx-en-Velin, the BBC writes, broadcast Klankosova.tv.
Four people are in critical condition, and 15 others suffered minor injuries, including two firefighters.
The fire is already extinguished and prosecutors are investigating its cause.
The flames seem to have begun on the ground floor before spreading upward.
I woke up with screams... we wanted to help people, but the smoke was too heavy. I saw a dead woman... it's dramatic”. A local resident told the newspaper Le Progress de Lyon.
