Independent Monitoring Authority (IMA), an overseer created by the British government to oversee citizens' rights, has indicted Britain's Interior Ministry, claiming it is violating the EU withdrawal agreement by urging its citizens to reapplied for a license to live and work in Britain.
IMA lawyers have claimed that Britain is illegally urging EU citizens to reamplify residence and work permits, even though they have already received them before Britain leaves the EU.
EU citizens, who are allowed to stay in Britain before Brex, will have to recoup for the status already acquired within five years or automatically lose the right to stay in Britain unless they have so-called pre-residence status.
Supreme Court Judge Peter Lane stated that the British government's decision was the legitimately wrong “, making illegal the United Kingdom government's plan for EU citizens to stay in the country after Brex.
Great Britain's Home Office lawyers have announced they will appeal against this decision.
