CEC Election Report Waiting Presidency in the North

Elections for mayors in northern Kosovo are scheduled to be held on December 18th.
The debate over whether or not to postpone elections in the north has been sparked as there have been incidents of firearms and hand grenades in northern municipalities in recent days, which has prompted Kosovo Police to increase its presence there.
The elections in northern Mitrovica were announced after the mayors of northern Mitrovica, Zvecan, Zubin Potok and Leposaviqi resigned in November, in recognition of a Kosovo government's decision to reregister cars that have illegal license plates issued by Serbia.
Osmani said on December 8th that he will address the issue of delaying elections if such a request makes the CEC. She also said she would receive assessment reports of the security situation in the north by competent authorities.
“Brend two-three days will clear up the issue of delaying elections in northern Kosovo”, the president said.
The first state said the postponement of elections could take place only after consultations with political parties.
Election officials were prevented from performing their official work on December 6th, because while under police escort to the north, municipal election offices were damaged “by dangerous means, including hand grenades”.
The CEC on Thursday has adopted an operational election security plan, which said it will be submitted to the police.
Due to lack of physical security, members of municipal election commissions in northern Kosovo have already declared that they refuse to go to their jobs.
The United States and Germany have called for Kosovo to postpone holding elections, due to incidents marked in recent days.
Authorities in Pristina have named it “terrorist attacks” incidents in the north, and have said that <x2 criminal gangs” that “are financed and conducted” from Serbia are responsible for these acts.
The Serbian list ʹ the main party of Serbs in Kosovo in November drew its officials from institutions in the north. She is rejecting holding the December 18th elections.
After police began increasing its presence in northern Kosovo, the Serbian List declared on December 9th that the “barist resistance” in the north is the deputy leader of this party, Milan Radociq.
Radoiciq is wanted by Kosovo for “witness intimidation” in the trial case known as “Brezovica”. He's on the American blacklist because of his involvement in international organised crime. Also, it has been imposed under sanctions from Britain due to corruption.
