Greek media writes that there are about 60 lawmakers in Belgian authorities of the European Parliament. The Belgian prosecution has not provided detailed information, but on the official page of the justice institution, several photos of millions of euros being seized have been published.
The Eurodeputs allegedly benefited from the Gulf countries' lobbies over certain EU laws and trade issues.
A few days ago Belgian police arrested vice-president Eva Kyle, former Yugoslav President Antonio Panzer and Francesco Giorgi, husband of the European Parliament's vice president. Prosecutors cast doubts that EU officials have taken bribes from Qatar on issues related to favouring the country's airlines.
Eurodeput Eva Kyle has denied involvement in corrupt issues. Meanwhile, her husband, according to the Italian media, has agreed to cooperate. He has declared that he has participated in several meetings of organisations from Qatar and Morocco, but only with the aim of co-operation according to laws and not corruption.
The Belg investigation has included secret services of five European Union countries.
