The arrest of former Kosovo president Hashim Thaci was one of the topics for which the High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security, Josep Borrell, had decided to mention in his speech at the Forum for Human Rights on the subject “Stop the impunity of the Road to Accountability and Justice”.
Borrell said the European Union is forming mechanisms for post-conflict solution.
Here he mentioned Kosovo and Specialised Chambers in The Hague.
“We are forming separate mechanisms for post-conflict solutions. I want to mention Kosovo, the Specialised Chambers of Kosovo. The former president of Kosovo is now in Amsterdam awaiting trial and our police mission in Kosovo (EULEX) was in charge of arresting him when he was acting president and sending him to Amsterdam to face justice”, he said.
