Interior Minister Jalal Svecla says the barricades in the north have lost meaning.
Svecla, at a press conference, said the reason for the deployment of these barricades is the arrest of former police officer Dejan Pantic, until he added there is speculation about his health and treatment.
His health situation is good and is getting proper treatment. We have applied to the partners for him to be transferred to detention centres from the police station. Leaving the barricades would enable its transfer easily and safely”.
Svechla has said the wait to withdraw barricades from KFOR is coming to an end.
We expect that KFOR will act as soon as possible. It has been 13 days, and the situation remains the same and has even been heavy. If that doesn't happen, we have the capacity to do it ourselves”.
The interior minister says Serbian propaganda has burdened the situation in that part of Kosovo.
A false “being used is that Kosovo Police have lists to arrest certain persons. We don't have a list. The list had Serbia, which also killed Oliver Ivanoviqi”.
Svechla says police will implement the law but have sought understanding from citizens.
The situation of police officials in Jarinje who have had chronic diseases has been withdrawn until others remain at the helm of duty”, Svechla declared.
