Plecommer, 30, has shown no good performance this season despite his initial borrowing was transformed into a permanent summer deal.
Coutinho faces the possibility of an even smaller minute under the direction of Unay Emery, rather than under former coach Steven Gerard, who was too excited to take it from Barcelona last year.
Coutinho only started six of the Aston Villa matches in Premier League this season and has completed 90 minutes on one occasion alone.
