Anceplotti: It will never come out of my mouth that Mess is the best in history

Real Madrid coach Carlo Anceplottti has insisted that it is not fair to say that Lionel Messi is the best football player in history because of different ages in football.

Speaking ahead of Real Madrid's encounter with Waldalide on Saturday 31 December, Anceplotti said he cannot name the Messiah as the best in history because he has trained many World Cup winners.

Asked if Mess is the best, Anceplotti said: “I don't know if he's the best in history. It's not fair to say that, because every era has very good players. The best mass in history will not come out of my mouth. I have enjoyed many good players... I train every day the Golden Ball winner”.

Lionel Messi is now being seen by many as the best player in football history after winning the 2022 World Cup with Argentina this month in Qatar.

The World was the only trophy that the Argentinians lacked to complete a spectacular career.
