Born in Boston at the beginning of the Great Depression in 1929, she won 12 Emmy awards.
She had managed to interview every president US, from Richard Nixon to Donald Trump, also a host of music stars.
“Barbara Walters passed away peacefully to her home surrounded by loved ones”, publicist Cindi Berger said in a statement Friday evening.
She lived her life without any regrets. She was a pioneer not only for female journalists but for all women”.
