Two US officials told Reuters that sanctions will be imposed under the Global Magnitsky Act, a 2016 law authorising the US government to sanction foreign government officials considered human rights offenders, freeze their assets and prevent them from entering the US, writes Skynews.
Earlier this week, White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said America had seen continued offering Iranian fears to Russia.
