Since the founding of the Kosovo Police and so far over 1 200 members have resigned voluntarily, while this year it is estimated that over 100 police officers have left the institution.
This has been confirmed for Online Economy, Imer Zeqiri, chairman of the Kosovo Police Union.
According to him, the resignation is due to low wages and other conditions.
This issue is also disturbing in the Kosovo Police because not only now do we continue to resign voluntarily and say so because of the establishment of the Kosovo Police, we have more than 1 200 voluntary resignations”.
This year alone, we have over 100 police officials who have resigned voluntarily from the Kosovo Police, and mainly these resignations are due to low wages and other” conditions, the SPK chairman explained.
The Kosovo Police Union is seeing with great concern the fact that police officials against their work, after the age of 65, will receive retirement of old age.
Zeqiri said the priority has been police's early retirement since the age of 55. He also said the salaries this institution receives are very low compared to other institutions.
Therefore, we are without pension currently and the law on retirement of police officials at age 55 is one of the priorities against many other priorities. No, not just for police officials, but we're probably worse than all the other” institutions.
When Zeqiri spoke of logistical equipment he said that despite accepting tenders for this uniformed supply and clothing for police, there are still visible shortages.
There's actually been a supply of both shoes and boots, but if we talk about the total number of police, or the entire police territory, we still have a shortage of both boots and shoes and uniforms, and that's because of the failure of some” tenders, Zeqi added further
