Ukraine's president, Voldymyr Zelenksy, has said special units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are already in the southern town of Kherson, following Russia's withdrawal.
He said today is a historic day, adding that other Ukrainian forces are on their way to Kherson.
“Our people, our Christson”, wrote Zelensky in his account on the telegram, the BBC writes.
On the other hand, he said that the population in Kherson was waiting for Ukrainian forces, and they never gave up Ukraine.
