Weber: Pristina to postpone implementation of Targat decision, Belgrade withdraw from request for Association

The resignations of members of the community from Kosovo, the Balkan expert and senior associate of the Berlin Democratic Policy Council, Bodo Weber, have been considered the largest escalation in Kosovo since 2013. Weber, told us about the portal “Noova”, that this escalation does not occur due to [...] resignations.
Weber, has said of the portal “Noova”, that this escalation does not occur because of Serb resignations in the Government of Kosovo, Parliament and municipality, but because of the departure of Serbian policemen, judges and prosecutors from Kosovo institutions.
“This certainly shows, and what is already evident in the last two years, that negotiations (Belgrade and Pristina) require commitment from the highest levels in Berlin, Paris and Washington. We have also seen that negotiations on bilateral disputes outside the framework of comprehensive negotiations lead nowhere. Because even after bilateral disputes, such as the license dispute, lies the status issue”, says Weber.
He stresses that Pristina's recent unilateral moves are a reflection of the unstable “state of dialogue and that it is necessary to return to negotiations for a comprehensive agreement.
Weber believes that the only way out of this situation is to let both sides go.
A complete review of the highest levels of Western officials is needed. The very fact that in the context of the so-called German-French proposal came to this passage indicates that we are still far from such comprehensive negotiations. From this situation, there is really no way out, except to postpone Pristina's unilateral decision [for license] and withdraw the demand for the formation of association by the Serb side. Dialogue is locked in association, which shows that the issue cannot be resolved outside the framework of a comprehensive deal”,weber estimates.
